Important: Deleting your account is a permanent action. Once your account is deleted, your data cannot be recovered.
How to Delete Your Account (In-App)
The fastest way to delete your account and all associated data is directly through the Wondea app. To do so, follow these steps:
- Open the Wondea app and ensure you are signed in.
- Navigate to your Profile.
- Tap on the gear icon (Settings) or access the options menu.
- Select the Delete Account option.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm the deletion.
How to Request Account Deletion (Via Email)
If you no longer have access to the app or prefer to request deletion manually, you can contact us to delete your account.
- Send an email to wondea.admin@gmail.com.
- Use the subject line: Account Deletion Request.
- Please send the email from the address associated with your Wondea account, or include your display name and registered email to help us locate your account.
- We will process your request and delete your data within 30 days.
What Data is Deleted?
When your account is deleted, we automatically remove the following data from our active databases (Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Realtime Database, and Cloud Storage):
- Profile Information: Your email address, display name, birth date, and optional profile photo.
- Authentication: Your Firebase Authentication account.
- Photos and Media: Your profile photo and any cached images specifically uploaded for your wishlist products.
- Wishlists and Items: All wishlists you created, including all the products (items) inside them, and the real-time reservation/purchase status for those items.
- Comments: All comments you made or received on your wishlists or items.
- Social and Contact Data: Your contact list, pending contact requests (incoming and outgoing), and any invitations you sent. You are also automatically removed from the contact lists of your friends and from any wishlists they shared with you.
- Favorites: Your list of favorite wishlists.
- App Events and Activity: Any associated events, reminders, suggestions, user statistics, and analytics events linked to your account.
- Notifications: Push notification tokens linked to your devices.
What Data May Be Retained?
While we delete your active account data, please note the following exceptions:
- External Shares: Any content you previously shared outside the app (e.g., links sent via SMS, WhatsApp, or other apps) will remain on those external platforms and the recipients' devices.
- System Backups: Some data may temporarily remain in secure infrastructure backups or logs as part of our standard data retention and disaster recovery procedures. These backups are routinely deleted after a short period.
- Legal Obligations: We may retain limited information if necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
